The Pastel Society have been invited to submit members work for a summer Art Festival in Thurles.  This would be a great opportunity for our members in the South of Ireland to participate in an exhibition a little closer to home. In order to find out how best we can make this work the committee has asked two members to travel down to Thurles to meet with the festival organiser.  Patricia McDermott and May Gawn will be trying to find out what sort of venues are available, hanging space, security etc. before we commit, however we would be delighted if we were able to make a success of this.  The meeting will incur no costs for exhibiting members, although we may have to negotiate local commission rates with vendors who would be willing to display and sell our work. If anyone has any views on this or is willing to help with local negotiations and possibly hanging please contact the committee.  Keep an eye out for more news on this…..
