David Sweet had a lucky find whilst on holiday near Bordeaux in France.  By sheer coincidence he happened to find himself staying 2km from Saint-Aulaye where the Pastels-en-Perigord exhibition was being held. David met the President (Michel Bordas) although regrettably David’s French let him down…….

The one of the main featured artists this year was Vicento Romero from Madrid who had a selection of around 10 of his beautiful figurative pastel paintings.  The link to his worpress galleries can be found here.

Another oustanding still life pastellist with about 15 works on display was Paul Dumestre, some of his work can be seen here

    • Absolutely Joe. I would encourage everyone to check them out. I was lucky enough to be able to get a wee Dumestre “Deportee des Poires”… is absolutely gorgeous…
