Damian Gorman: Artist in Residence

The MAC’s Artist in Residence space is a unique facility that brings international, national and home-grown artists from a range of artforms to the MAC as part of our year round Artist in Residence programme.

Damian Gorman, the MAC’s fourth Artist in Residence, is one of Northern Ireland’s most successful and versatile contemporary writers.

During his time as our Artist in Residence, March to June 2013, he has steered numerous creative writing workshops for community groups and fellow writers.

As he approaches the end of his residency, we’re delighted to have a number of opportunities for you to see the results of his time at the MAC.

Work in Hand – 17 June

A celebration of work-in-progress, Damian will be introducing a group of writers who will present their work. This is a free event.

Here I Am – 19 June

To mark Refugee Week, the MAC and Damian Gorman will host an evening of story-telling by some people who Damian has met during his time as the MAC’s Artist in Residence – people who have come to Northern Ireland seeking refuge or asylum. This is a free event.
